Employees with pets may unknowingly bring fleas to work, resulting in an infestation. Here are a few simple tips to help you deal with the issue and keep it from happening again.

Tips for Treating Fleas At Work

Employees Should Be Treated

Include all employees who own pets in your flea eradication program. Provide flea treatments for pets and owners' homes. Guide all employees to wash their work clothes in a hot wash setting to kill fleas and eggs.

Insecticides

To treat a flea infestation, spray insecticide on all furniture, carpets, and floors. When applying the treatment, notify employees beforehand, so they do not come into contact with the treated surfaces.

Seek Help

To get rid of fleas in your commercial building, seek help from a commercial pest control company. Pest control services could assess the flea problem and devise solutions to eliminate it once and for all.

Vacuum

Vacuuming removes fleas effectively from carpets and upholstered furniture. Dispose of the vacuum bag so that the fleas do not return. Better yet, use a bagless vacuum and make sure to remove the contents away from the office premises.

Best Flea and Tick Control for Home or Office

Fogger

Foggers are a type of flea treatment that combines some active ingredients to create a lethal pesticide for flea and other household pest control. The fogger mists the room and penetrates nooks and crannies where fleas or ticks may hide.

Spray

Pest control sprays work by depositing chemicals into the sebaceous glands, killing fleas and ticks (and sometimes mosquitos, depending on the product). Once the active ingredient enters the glands that lubricate the coat of a cat or dog with oil, it acts to repel fleas and ticks.

Powder

Flea powders contain talcum powder and insecticide. The powder and insecticide work together to kill the fleas and eggs in your home. Some flea powders are safe for pets, while others are only for carpets and outdoor areas.
